their goals in life .

The children were really well motivated to participate in these

sessions and enjoyed the experience immensely. The sessions had clear

links with our SEAL work and highlighted for the children some key

areas of learning. A great time had by all!

"We are a School Sports Partnership covering all of the Dartford Area as well as parts of Sevenoaks. We cover 49 Schools (Infant, Primary, Secondary and Special) within these areas. Kick Kent have delivered sessions for several of these schools . Most importantly they deliver sessions for students with special educational needs and behaviour problems. Kick Kent Coaches have all of the qualities one would need to have to work with these varying types of students. Their patience, humour and quality coaching always give the students an experience to remember and many schools continue to have repeat visits."

"The Programme has helped us as a Partnership to enable our schools to access quality coaching by professionals in this line of work."

"The partnership constantly receives extremely positive comments from the schools. The coaches always act in a very professional manner whilst still ensuring that the students are having fun. They have made a great impact on all students, in some cases helping them build their own self esteem as well as giving them new skills in a sporting environment."

"We are fortunate as a partnership to be working with Kick Kent and would wish to continue our partnership with them in the future."

"KickKent Team Keir and Ian, planned and delivered a variety of skill-based (football) challenges and games/matches during a 12 week summer programme for a group of young people (age range 9-18) we work with (Sevenoaks Detached Project Youth Work Team). This varied programme was thoroughly enjoyed by all the young people who took part ~ and in all weathers, too! Many young people, and parents, are already asking when will we be running another programme with the KickKent team."

"Overall, 32 young people registered with the programme at one point or another, and over 25 of those young people attended regularly. Their achievements were praised and celebrated with certificates and/or medals at the end of the programme."

"The skill-based challenges were designed to develop teamwork and football skills, such as:"

  • Ball control: dribbling, passing, heading, shooting, throwing-in and kicking corners and penalties, set pieces, defending, attacking.
  • Goalkeeping: saves, throws, goal-kicks, arranging defensive wall.

"These skill-based challenges and football games played were also designed to help the young people recognise, develop and reflect on life skills, such as:"

  • Setting, measuring and achieving personal goals, and celebrating them
  • Dealing with failure and disappointment as well as success and achievements, and revisiting/resetting more achievable targets.
  • Discovering own talents, skills, gifting and/or abilities and developing them further.
  • Building supportive friendships and relationships.
  • Encourage leadership skills and teamwork, helping others
  • Encourage and embrace positive, empowering experiences, receiving/accepting praise
  • Trust and respect, forgiveness and acceptance, non-judgemental/anti-discriminatory issues

"The Kick Kent team are always professional, fair and focused from early planning discussions to programme execution and beyond. As a youth work team we very much enjoyed working with Keir and Ian and look forward to future collaborations."

"Kick Kent delivered a 5 week football programme for my project in the Wallis Park area, which is part of Northfleet North.  This area is one of Gravesham's highest NEET areas with major issues affecting both young and old in the area."

"As a team we felt that this was very beneficial for the young people in the area, especially the younger ones.  The skills discipline seemed to work well with them as they find it hard to listen and carry out commands.  I felt not only did this enhance their football skills, but also their listening and communication skills, and also boundaries and discipline."

"'Kick Kent came to the HAWK Youth Project to deliver a summer scheme of 3 sessions a week in Hartley, New Ash green and West Kingsdown. They delivered for 9 weeks. The delivery of the sessions was excellent. The coaches always turned up punctually and set up promptly with a clear plan for the session. Each session had a clear learning outcome that was always evaluated at the end with the young people to gauge success. The activities were challenging both physically and mentally and young people always came back for the next session. I was hugely impressed with the delivery and the relationship formed with the young people. Some of the young people we work with at HAWK demonstrate both EBD and ELD which Kick catered for not only in planning but also in the flow of the session. I would highly recommend the service Kick provides as good value for money and high impact both in terms of learning and fun. I will definitely be calling on the services of Kick Kent again in the near future.'"
